  • MTP3 Routing per linkset
    Ribbon Communications/Signaling Transfer Point 2020. 5. 4. 17:57

This capture is about MTP3 routing per linkset. You need Advanced Managed Routing(RTIL) license for this.

You have one Routeset by default. the name is STANDARD. You can find the list in NA.

    Routeset List Selection

    <RTIL Toplogy>

We are going to use NA3 for RTIL.

    1. Adding Routeset on NA3

    Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routeset List Selection > Create >

I would like to use linkset name for the routeset name because the additional routeset will be used per linkset.

    LS2222 named routeset

You should add two routeset for NA2 and NA4.

    2. Deleting previous RS configuration on NA3 for this capter test

    Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets > RS1111 > 'X' in Route selection > Delete > Deactivate > Continue > Delete > Delete

    Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets > RS5555 > 'X' in Route selection > Delete > Deactivate > Continue > Delete > Delete

    Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets

If you correctly delete all routesets, you can see like below.

    3. Setting LS2222 Routeset table.

3.1 Configuring Default Routing for Right side(4444, 5555)

       Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets > LS2222 Routeset Selection > Create > DPC, DEFAULT > Create

3.2 Adding Route in default routing

       Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets > DRS 1:x.x.x > Route Create > APC 4444, Cost 10 > Create > Activate

This routing means that when DSC receives all the traffic messages from LS2222, DSC sends them to LS4444.

3.3 Configuring Default Routing for Left side (1111, 2222)

       Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets > LS4444 Routeset Selection > Create > DPC 0, DEFAULT > Create

3.4 Adding Route in default routing

       Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Routesets > DRS 2:x.x.x > Route Create > APC 4444, Cost 10 > Create > Activate

This routing means that when DSC receives all the traffic messages from LS4444, DSC sends them to LS2222

3.5 Applying the new LS2222 Routeset table to the Linkset(2222).

       Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Linksets > LS2222 > 'LS2222' in Routeset List Name > Continue > Continue

       * You don't need to deactivate the linset to change Routeset List name attribute.

3.6 Applying the new LS4444 Routeset table to the linkset(4444).

       Applications > MTP3 > NA3 > Linksets > LS4444 > 'LS4444' in Routeset List Name > Continue > Continue

    3.7 Checking the message flow

Between PC1111 and PC5555, messages are correctly routed via NA3.

BUT, we should solve TFx message issue when we are using RTIL.

Let's talk about this to next chapter.
